- Price. Very inexpensive.
- Easy to clean. The drive has a mechanical fit similar to a blender, so the grinding chamber can be removed and is easy to clean.
At this price, you can't go wrong if you're looking for a decent grinder, or are wanting to start grinding your own beans.
The Bad:
- Fill as you-use. No hopper to retain beans and dispense the correct amount for grinding--you must measure each time.
- Grind settings. The grind settings adjust the grind duration based on the programmed number of cups to grind, and the coarseness desired. I find that the unit I have tends to grind the beans more finely than I'd prefer.
- Lid fit. The top lid fits over the grinding chamber, and doesn't want to easily mate with the chamber. It is necessary to get the proper fit, since the grinding button is a pass through on the lid that must be held down until the unit finishes grinding. You may release it early if desired.
Overall, the easy-to-clean nature of the unit overcomes it's shortcomings, since having clean surfaces is very important to making the best coffee.
