This replacement part was indicated for my new coffee maker, LWXSS33, on the original packaging but it didn't fit. What I needed was the ISD 17. The shape was right but the plastic lid wasn't tall enough. However,I did have a lid from the old decanter and it fit perfect. I complained to Mr.Coffee, Sunbeam or who ever owns them now about it and they sent me a new one free of charge. In fact they have replaced the whole LWXSS33 free of charge on another matter I had with it Now the decanter over all is fragile and the how original cracked, I haven't a clue. The replacement is doing well still after a month and a half.Overall I'm neutral on this purchase but now I have 2 choices for replacements in the future and what an nice company to work with.

It grinds well enough the timer is nice if you have no idea what you are doing and can't learn how long to grind your beans after a few attempts. The big downside for me was the time it takes to clean it out. I may have a little OCD I don't know but I like the grinder to be clean (relatively) before each use meaning I wipe it out with a dry cloth. The cup of the grinder has different plastic pieces in it you won't find in most grinders which makes it a pain to clean out. I have a very simple cuisinart grinder at home and it works just fine I use the Mr Coffee grinder at work because my wife decided she didn't like it (after she bought it). So I would recommend almost any other simple grinder over this one.

I was going to buy just the average low cost grinder. I saw this one for a few dollars more and said what the heck. It was not a bad choice. So far after a few weeks it works great. The entire grinding chamber comes off making it easy to dump the coffee into the coffee maker. The self cleaning feature is helpful but does not eliminate regular manual cleaning. As long as it lasts I would buy another.

I am quite the coffee conisseur, and thus am pretty picky about my coffee products. My husband bought me this for my birthday, since our last "cheapo" coffee grinder was not grinding consistently anymore. I was skeptical, as I had been in the market for a burr grinder this time around. I thought I would try it anyway, and save the difference in money that it would cost to upgrade to a burr. I have to say, I was very impressed! While you do have to hold the button down the whole time it grinds, it does shut itself off when finished, which is nice. The selling feature for me is the removable coffee chamber. You don't have to tip your grinder upside down and tap the coffee into the lid. Nor do you have to hold the entire unit over the sink while you wipe the inside and around the blade with a paper towel, hoping you don't nick your finger! You just pop out the cup, open the spout, and pour your grinds into your filter. Then comes the best part...you just wash the cup in the sink or place in your dishwasher, and voila! Clean as a whistle. And it seems to produce a very consistent grind, which makes me happy, knowing I will get a great cup of coffee. For you other "coffee snobs" out there, the grind chart is obviously way off. Unless you like your coffee to taste like Folgers, use more than the 3/4 tbsp per cup that they recommend! All in all, I am very pleased with this product, and for the price, you can't beat it!

For only $19.99 (locally) I bought this grinder. I was going to buy a different model that was around $80 to get quality, but I noticed this had adjustable settings - three; namely, for Espresso, Auto Drip, and French Press. The Auto Drip (medium) setting seems to grind a bit too fine, and so far I've had coffee grounds escape the filter. However, this is my only complaint. Some other observations:

(1) You can set the number of coffee cups you want and just hold down the "on" button; it will stop automatically. You can also elect to stop early by letting go of the button.

(2) The ChamberMaid system basically sweeps the sides by your twisting action so much of the grounds stuck to the sides fall to the bottom.

(3) The user's manual says the lid and the grind container are dishwasher safe, which is convenient.

(4) The electrical cord LOOKS short, but it uncoils around the bottom, giving more length (don't try to pull straight out).

(5) Finally, it's kinda loud but who cares. Close your kids'/deadbeat brother's door(s) if you're worried about waking them up.

In summary, the unit is sleek, compact, customizable, and worth the money. I do wish I could come up with a compromise and get a coarser ground for my autodrip coffee, but I guess I'll just have to play around with it somemore. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to pour myself some more coffee.

The grinder cleaner arms are useless - in fact, not only do they not keep the bowl clean, they require additional work to get them clean too.

The flip top lid is useless - unless you like static electric charged coffee grounds flung over your counter.

The electrical cord is useless - it is so short it won't even reach from the outlet to the edge of the counter.

The grinder timer is useless - you still have to hold the switch on to make it operate - not that it's a big woo, but if there are going to be bells and whistles for a timer - at least make it stop on it's own.


The cover and bowl mechanisim is very cumbersome to reassemble.

All in all - the grinder is not worth having.

I returned mine.

I have not owned other coffee grinders (i.e. this is my first), so my comparisons and comments are not compared to any other similar products, but this coffee grinder works well. It grinds the coffee quickly and the motor seems strong enough to last a reasonable amount of time (hopefully at least a 1.5 years or maybe 2). However the quality of the chamber itself seems a bit questionable. The chamber isn't that sturdy, but if you're careful I really don't see how this could break except when subject to extreme use. Great deal for the price.

How to Get Organized on a Budget

The first step to getting organized and staying organized is paring down your physical possessions to an essential few items. The good news is that this step costs nothing - and can even make you a little money. Sort through that disastrous pile and decide what items you absolutely need to keep. Pitch, donate or sell the rest, and do it fast. Leaving a pile of items "to be donated" will leave you second-guessing your decision to part with that used-to-be-cute yellow purse from two years ago. Act fast to avoid the temptation to reclaim.

My favorite organization technique is giving new life to items that would otherwise be thrown away. Channel your inner grandmother and save those plastic butter tubs and cottage cheese containers. The seal on them make them great for small items such as paper clips and thumb tacks. Not into the logo? Try reusing the glass jars from peanut butter and pasta sauce as pencil and scissor holders. Aluminum cans also make sturdy Storage cups. And for a cute, contemporary salute to Mr. Warhol, go ahead and leave those classic tomato soup labels on the can.

Buying new Storage does not necessarily have to be expensive. Cardboard filing boxes from an office supply store are inexpensive and sturdy. While they leave something to be desired in the aesthetic department, they can easily be covered with cute fabric, extra wallpaper or attractive wrapping paper. Simply measure out a plus-shaped length of material, spray the back with adhesive and adhere. For a little variety in shapes, you can raid the corrugated pile at membership wholesale stores. They have an assortment of box shapes that are intended for product display, which makes them perfect for holding binders, albums, magazines and cook books.

Another great place to look for Storage containers is second-hand shop. To those of you who snub your nose at thrift stores, I have one thing to say: more for the rest of us. Attractive cook books, a neatly folded stack of fluffy white towels or a bouquet of freshly sharpened yellow no. 2 pencils can look down-right artful when thoughtfully displayed.

Always remember getting organized and being organized are not one in the same. While tidiness begets tidiness, it is easy to slip back into those old habits of kicking your shoes off in the middle of the floor and leaving the honey sitting out on the kitchen counter. Simply being more thoughtful in your actions is a cost-free and highly effective way to discover personal tendencies and eliminate messes before they appear.

The Good:

- Price. Very inexpensive.
- Easy to clean. The drive has a mechanical fit similar to a blender, so the grinding chamber can be removed and is easy to clean.

At this price, you can't go wrong if you're looking for a decent grinder, or are wanting to start grinding your own beans.

The Bad:

- Fill as you-use. No hopper to retain beans and dispense the correct amount for grinding--you must measure each time.
- Grind settings. The grind settings adjust the grind duration based on the programmed number of cups to grind, and the coarseness desired. I find that the unit I have tends to grind the beans more finely than I'd prefer.
- Lid fit. The top lid fits over the grinding chamber, and doesn't want to easily mate with the chamber. It is necessary to get the proper fit, since the grinding button is a pass through on the lid that must be held down until the unit finishes grinding. You may release it early if desired.

Overall, the easy-to-clean nature of the unit overcomes it's shortcomings, since having clean surfaces is very important to making the best coffee.
